“In 2011 my family (wife and new born daughter) and I travelled to Hawaii 2011 for 4 months. Chef Doris lived with us and created daily meals that were like nothing we’ve ever tasted before. Each meal was excellent! We never knew organic plant-based food could taste so scrumptious. Eating her food daily not only opened our eyes to the plethora of what else exists beyond standard Western food, but led both my wife and I to loose about 10 kg each within 10 weeks. Doris showed us how to cut out sugar by eating real food, mostly fruits and veggies (full of complex long chain carbohydrates). I recall how at every meal we waited eagerly with excitement for Chef Doris’ creations. She never followed recipes. She created new dishes each and every time with raw ingredients found in the garden she had us build, local farmers she introduced to and from the farmers markets that took place in the town we were staying in. Chef Doris shared her vast knowledge of nutrition and healthy lifestyle which we adopted quickly, replacing our toxic western processed food habits and lifestyle which is known to cause metabolic disease. Thanks to Doris we learnt firsthand that food really is our medicine and that disease is preventable and healthy lifestyle can be maintained. Doris is an exceptional and brilliant chef and her self education and skills have helped so many including myself and my family. We highly recommend her to anyone seeking to adopt a healthy and tasteful palate.
