Feeling willy-nilly? You need Blini!
Blini, or Blintzes, are the staple of traditional Russia. Usually served for breakfast, these thin crepe-like pancakes are filled with sweet cheese fillings or a savory vegetable spread.
In this fun hands-on workshop, award-winning Chef Doris Fin invites you to join in on recreating one of her favourite foods from her Russian roots. You will mix, flip, fill, roll and finally eat your own traditional Blini prepared from scratch. While guests eat, a Live performance will take center stage by Russian musician Ekaterina singing songs from her roots, accompanied by Ukrainian talent Stacey Yerofeyeva on accordion. Both musicians are members of the all-female Balkan band Blisk! It's bound to be a treat!

Pre-made sweet and savory fillings such as: mushrooms with potato's and creme fresh with butter will be used to fill the blini. There will also be a Special Demo on how to make Rum Balls, a recipe passed down from Doris's great-grandmother.
A communal meal follows where guests will savour their creations with extra traditional Russian veg. dishes Prepared by Chef Doris.

ABOUT CHEF DORIS FIN
An award winning international chef based out of Toronto, Doris specializes in plant-based culinary arts, teaches interactive culinary classes, caters private events, and is currently working on a cookbook and traveling for her documentary film series featuring food of the world with top chefs and farmers. Born in Kazakhstan and of Russian descent, Ekaterina is a versatile singer and a multi-instrumentalist (percussion, guitar, zhaleika and recorder). Her unique voice encompasses a range of sounds from traditional Eastern Europe to Western classical, often intertwined with contemporary and alternative music genres. With a degree in Music, Ekaterina immersed herself in the traditions of the Balkans, East Slavic cultures and the Near East. As an active performer, Ekaterina has participated in numerous world music events over the years, with her most recent musical work “Zemlya,” which was released for the Folk Alliance 2019.
ABOUT STACEY YEROFEYEVA
A multifaceted Ukrainian-born artist With a Diploma in Classical Piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Contemporary Jazz Piano from Humber College, Stacey Yerofeyeva (staceyy.com) is the front woman of the Slavic-electro-soul project DoVira (doviramusic.com), and founding member of the all-female Balkan band Blisk (bliskmusic.com). As a multilingual vocalist, her voice has been featured on the award-winning show Orphan Black, and as a keyboardist she has shared the stage with the likes of Indo-Pakistani band JoSH. She is the founder/president of Stereoflavour (stereoflavour.ca), a music hub for Toronto’s most versatile professional musicians, providing top-caliber live entertainment & music planning services for events in the GTA. With over 9 recorded releases under her belt, her work has been coined “world fusion at its best” by Whole Note Magazine.
